Homemade Preserves Pop-tarts

Super easy and super sweet alternative to Pop-Tarts! Impress your friends with this awesome take on a classic. Eat it out of the oven for the toasted effect; or, cool it off in the fridge for the traditional, non-toasted way.

Just 4 easy ingredients!

Ingredients:

  • Refrigerated Pie Crust (Make sure it has both pieces)

  • Just Spread Fruit Preserves (We used Fig and Apricot)- 1 cup for all pastries

  • Container of vanilla frosting (Can do homemade frosting if you want!)- About 1 cup

  • Sprinkles of choice (Just for garnish/topping)

Process:

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F

  2. Roll out one piece of crust onto baking sheet (We put down parchment paper too to prevent pastries from sticking)

  3. Cut crust into four equal pieces by cutting it into a big rectangle and splitting into quarters

  4. Place about a quarter cup of Just Spread Preserves onto each quarter of crust leaving small space around the edges. We used 1/2 Fig and 1/2 Apricot.

  5. Roll out and cut the other piece of crust into quarters to match the already cut pieces.

  6. Place the quarter-cut pieces of crust on top of the other crust that already has preserves on it and pinch together the edges with a fork.

  7. Place pastries in oven and bake for 8-10 minutes until pie crust has browned.

  8. Let cool for 30 minutes to a hour and frost.

  9. Top with sprinkles and enjoy!

Simple to make sweet treat the whole family will love!
